Guide 2 of 7

Connect your WhatsApp number

Which number to use, the display name, quality rating and messaging limits.

Which number can I use?

Any number you own that can receive an SMS or a call, as long as it isn't on the normal (personal) WhatsApp app.

A number in the WhatsApp Business app can stay in the app. WAlenz copies your phone contacts and up to 6 months of chats, and from then on messages show in both: your team answers in WAlenz, and you can still reply from your phone.

  • Update the WhatsApp Business app first, and keep it on the same phone.
  • Open the app regularly: WhatsApp disconnects numbers whose app isn't used.
  • Group chats stay on the phone: they aren't copied to WAlenz.
  • While the number is in both, WhatsApp turns off a few app features: broadcast lists, disappearing messages, calls, and the app's own greeting and away messages (use WAlenz's automatic replies instead).
  • It sends up to 20 messages a second, which is plenty for most campaigns.

Connecting

  1. In WAlenz, open WhatsApp and click Connect WhatsApp. Choose A new number, or My WhatsApp Business app number to keep using the app.
  2. Log in with the Facebook account that manages your business.
  3. Choose your business portfolio (or create one), then your WhatsApp Business account.
  4. Enter your number and the code you receive. For a WhatsApp Business app number, confirm in the app on your phone, and choose whether to share your chats.

WAlenz never asks for passwords or tokens: Meta gives us access only to what you approve.

Display name

Customers see your display name (for example "Ceylon Tea Co"). Meta checks it matches your business; until it's approved, messages may show only the number.

Quality and limits

  • Quality rating (green, yellow, red) depends on how customers react. Blocks and reports lower it.
  • Messaging limit is how many people you can start conversations with each day. New numbers start at 250 a day and grow as you send good-quality messages.

WAlenz shows both on the WhatsApp page, and pauses a campaign by itself if failures suddenly rise.
